The story of how the medicine found me and what I have carried since.
Who I Am
I am Kati Ackerman, shamanic medicine woman, ceremonialist, Akashic practitioner, feminine initiator, and the creator of Divine Akashic Ascension™. I guide women through the territories that most healing cannot reach. The places where the wound is not psychological, it is ancestral. Not in this lifetime, it is karmic. Not in the mind, it is in the womb, the blood, the bone.
I have spent fifteen years training, studying, sitting in ceremony, and being transformed by the medicines I now carry. What I offer is not a set of techniques. It is the distilled medicine of a lineage, held carefully, offered with devotion, and rooted in a story that began long before I understood what it meant.

The Lineage
It began with my aunt.
Before I ever knew what plant medicine was, there was Patricia. My aunt was a woman of extraordinary love, devotion, and spiritual courage. She was in Peru, documenting the sacred medicines, walking alongside indigenous healers, carrying the stories of what she witnessed back to a world that was not yet ready to hear them.
She worked with the Kogi tribe of Colombia, who named her Mother of the Forest in recognition of her dedication to their people and their land. In 2019, she secured and purchased 3,629 acres of land with Benki Piyako, Indigenous Leader of the Ashaninka people of Brazil, protecting ancient forest and the people who have always been its guardians. She gave her life in service to this medicine. To these lands. To these lineages.
She passed before I fully understood what I was walking into. But I have come to know, she laid the ground for it. Her devotion runs in my blood. Her work lives in mine. I carry her with me into every ceremony I hold.
The Awakening
But it was my nan, on my mother’s side, who cracked me open.
Where my aunt planted the seed of the medicine path, my nan is the one who woke something in me that had no name yet. When she passed, she did not leave. She crossed over and became one of my spirit guides, and I have felt her close in ceremony ever since, in the quiet moments, in the presence of water, in the parts of the work that ask me to simply listen. Her death was the first time I understood that the veil is thin, and that lineage is not only carried in blood, it is carried in spirit too.
Years later, an ancestral pilgrimage through Ireland and the UK would bring this fully into focus, standing at the Hill of Tara, collecting sacred water at St Brigid’s Well, tracing the thread of my own maternal and English ancestry back through the land itself. My nan, my aunt, the women who came before them, all of it is woven into the medicine I now carry.
The Path
Then the medicine found me.
My own path began not in peace, but in pain. I grew up in England carrying wounds that had no name. I moved through young adulthood the way many of us do, trying to outrun what I did not know how to face. Substances. Destructive cycles. A life that looked functional from the outside and felt hollow from within.
It was my father who first showed me what was possible. He healed his drug and alcohol addiction through plant medicine, a healing that conventional approaches had not provided. I watched someone I loved become himself again. I watched the medicine do what nothing else could.
That was the beginning of everything. My daughter was born from this world. We named her Aya, her name a living testament to the medicine path that brought her parents together and changed the trajectory of an entire family line.
The Training
I studied so I could serve.
For two years I walked the Red Road, a vision quest that demanded the kind of surrender most people never encounter. It stripped away everything I thought I was and revealed what remained.
I spent a year under the guidance of a maestro of the Shipibo lineage. Under his guidance I learned not just the techniques but the spirit of the medicine. How to listen. How to hold. How to step aside so the healing can move through. I learned integrity through my own trials and tribulations. I learned how I did, and did not, want to hold space.
It was through this depth of training, through years of sitting with the grandmother vine, that I came to understand my own medicine with clarity. The medicine of my lineage, of the land I come from, and of my deepest personal breakthroughs. Coming from England, this medicine is woven into the ancient earth of my own ancestry. And after years of training in the Shipibo tradition, it was this medicine that called me home, not as a departure from my training, but as the fullest expression of it.
This discernment, the willingness to follow the truth of my own medicine path rather than the expected one, is something I bring into every ceremony I hold. I do not carry what I have not lived.
I also trained with the IAKP, International Association of Kambo Practitioners, and trained under a Matses tribe initiatory holder, the original carriers of the frog medicine.
Over fifteen years I have deepened my training across nine modalities: Reiki Master Teacher, Pranic Healer, ISIS KA Practitioner, Akashic Records Practitioner, Holistic Counsellor, Hypnotherapist, Certified Psychedelic Integration Coach, BioGeometry Practitioner, and Point of Light Therapist.
These are not tools I collected. They are languages, each one teaching me a different way to read the field and meet each person where their healing lives.
How I Hold Space
My medicine is deeply rooted in the earth. I work closely with the elements and the four directions, North, South, East, West, each one holding its own wisdom, its own guardians, its own way of asking us to remember. My home holds an altar to each direction, a daily practice that keeps me in relationship with the land and with what came before me.
Nature is not a backdrop to this work, it is a co-facilitator. The forest, the water, the bone, the root, these are the true elders in the room. Whether I am sitting in ceremony, walking a pilgrimage trail, or simply standing barefoot in my own garden, I am listening for what the land wants to say through me.
What I Know
I know what it is to be completely lost inside yourself. I know what it is to carry pain in your body that has no origin in this lifetime. I know what it feels like when the medicine finally meets the wound that nothing else could reach.
I know, because I have lived every part of this.
That knowing is the most important thing I bring to this work. Not a technique. Not a certification. A lived understanding of what it actually takes to transform.
If you are here, something brought you. I do not believe in accidental arrivals. When you are ready, I would love to hear where you are in your journey.
Remember. Reclaim. Rise.
